Insurance & Billing
At Insight Acupuncture, we aim to make acupuncture care accessible and transparent. We work with many Canadian extended health insurance providers and offer direct billing where available, depending on your plan.
Direct Billing
Insight Acupuncture is registered with the following insurance providers and systems that may allow direct billing:
-
TELUS Health
(used by Sun Life, Canada Life, Desjardins, ClaimSecure, and other insurers) -
Alberta Blue Cross
-
Provider Connect (GreenShield Canada)
Please note: Direct billing availability depends on your individual benefits plan, not just the insurance company.
Some plans require manual submission even if the insurer is listed above.
Policyholder Responsibility
Your Responsibility as the Policyholder
Before your appointment, we recommend confirming the following with your insurance provider:
-
Coverage for acupuncture services
-
Annual or per-visit maximums
-
Whether a physician’s referral is required
-
Whether your plan supports direct billing
-
Any co-payment or deductible
Manual Submission
Some insurance plans require patients to pay at the time of treatment and submit receipts directly to their insurer for reimbursement.
This is common and normal.
Insight Acupuncture provides insurance-compliant receipts that can be submitted to all Canadian insurance providers.
Payment Policy
-
Payment is due at the time of service
-
If direct billing is approved, patients are responsible for:
-
Any co-payment
-
Any portion not covered by the plan
-
-
If an insurance claim is denied or partially paid, the remaining balance is the patient’s responsibility
